Rux, Earl E. age 86. of Rockford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.

Earl farmed west of Rockford, worked for Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing, did building construction around Rockford for many years, was an active member of Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church and past Church Treasurer, a 20 year volunteer for Rockford Fire Department, 18 years on the Rockford School Board District #883, was the City of Rockford Building Inspector for 18 years, worked for the City of Rockford Planning and Zoning, and a City of Rockford Council member for 6 years. Earl enjoyed watching WWE and the Minnesota Twins on television, going to the casino on weekends and taking care of his yard. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gladys (Klatt) Rux; brothers, Vernon and Willis Rux; sisters, Adeline Stadt, Leona Schaefer and Helen Thurston. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey; children, Cindy (Dave) Vick of Anoka, Terry (Diane) Rux of Montrose, Gregory (Trish) Rux of North Carolina, and Roxy (Mike) Findley of Coon Rapids; 11 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Jacobson, Ruth (Al) Haugen and Elda Thurston; nieces nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service was at 11:00 AM Saturday at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford.

Visitation was from 4-8 PM Friday at The Peterson Chapel Buffalo Funeral Home. Further visitation was one hour prior to the service at church.

Interment followed the services at Elmwood Cemetery.

Pastor Michael T. Barlow will officiate and Janet Beise is the organist. ˜What a friend we have in Jesus™ and ˜Precious Lord, take my hand™ was sung.

The pallbearers are, Kristin Findley, Tracy Metro, Troy Vick, Jason Rux, Kelly Rux and Mitchell Findley.
