C. Bernice Ramthun, age 93, of Buffalo passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2013 at Park View Care Center in Buffalo.

She was born on March 15, 1920 in Hallock, Minnesota the daughter of Ben and Clara Dessin Solberg.

Bernice graduated from South International Falls High School and later attended DeGeiles School of Beauty in Minneapolis.

On January 1, 1944, C. Bernice Solberg and Marvin M. Ramthun were joined in holy marriage in International Falls. God blessed their marriage with three children.

The Ramthuns were the original owners of the Standard Oil Station formerly located on Highway 55.

Bernice was also formerly employed as a longtime beautician at Sarah’s Beauty Nook in Buffalo.

Bernice was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Buffalo. Through the years she was active in quilting and L.W.M.L.

She belonged to the Auxiliaries of American Legion Post #270 and V.F.W. Post #3929 both in Buffalo.

Survived by a daughter: Carol (Robert) Bundgaard of Breezy Point; sons: Danny Ramthun of Bemidji and Randal Ramthun of Buffalo; grandsons: Jep (Cheryl) Bundgaard of Phoenix and Mark Bundgaard of Breezy Point; a sister: Mary Glea Shaw of Mahtomedi; other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by her husband: Marvin M. Ramthun on February 15, 1992, her parents and a brother: Bob Solberg.

Graveside Funeral Services for Bernice Ramthun will be held on Wednesday, April 10th at 1:30 P.M. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery-Crawford Lake. Rev. Philip J. Meyer will officiate.
