Darold Herbert Marschel, age 75, of Buffalo passed away on March 16, 2014 at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.|
He was born on October 30, 1938 in Rockford Township, Wright County, MN the son of Herbert and Selma (Ernst) Marschel. He was baptized on November 27, 1938 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Buffalo and was confirmed in the faith on July 13, 1952 by Pastor Mehlberg.
Darold enjoyed reading and being outdoors. He was a hard worker on the dairy farm all his life. He was a “no nonsense” kind of man who truly enjoyed his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Bev Marschel, children Lynn “Chuck” Marschel and Leanne Heairet all of Buffalo, grandchildren Amber Heairet Conwell, Josh Heairet, and Joseph Marschel, brother Arden (Susan) Marschel of Myrtle Beach, SC, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law Des Heairet.
Funeral services for Darold Marschel will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenfield. Rev. Dennis Strong will officiate.
The organist will be Cindy Steinke. The Salem Senior Choir will sing “I’m But a Stranger Here” and the congregational hymns will be “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “Abide With Me”, and “Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow.”
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2014 from 4-8 PM at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church. Further visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services on Friday.
Interment will be at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Greenfield, MN.
Casket bearers will be Lynn Marschel, Josh Heairet, Joseph Marschel, Rob Kolasa, Steve Kolasa and Jeremy Dixon.
The Peterson Chapel of Buffalo assisted the family with arrangements.
