Hazella Mae (Chamberlin) Westman, age 87, of Cokato passed away on Wednesday, March 13th, 2013 at The Cokato Manor.|
She was born on April 8, 1925 in Buffalo the daughter of Evan & Hazel (Bell) Chamberlin.
Her early years were spent in Buffalo and moved to the Enfield area where she attended grade school. Hazella graduated from Monticello High School in 1944.
She worked at Bondus Tool Company in the early days of that Company.
Hazella’s love was writing poetry, sewing and reading. Her latch hook rugs won many ribbons a The Wright County Fair.
Hazella Chamberlin & Chester Westman were joined in holy marriage on February 16, 1946 in Monticello. To this union four children were born. Chester Jr. of Rapid City, South Dakota, Sharon Pulver of Cokato, Claude is deceased and Sandra Lincoln of Howard Lake.
Most of Hazella & Chester’s life together was spent in the Buffalo, Monticello and Hasty areas where they were employed on dairy farms.
For a few years, Hazella resided at The Crow River Villa in Delano. She later moved to Cokato to be near her daughter Sharon who lost her husband. Sharon and Hazella were neighbors at The Cokato Apartments until Hazella entered The Cokato Manor.
When writing correspondence she would always end with “Love & Prayers”. Her favorite motto was “Live well, Laugh often and Love much!
Survived by her loving children: Chet Jr., Sharon Pulver, Sandra (Dennis) Lincoln; daughter-in-law: Leona Westman; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Biske of Monticello, Carol (Marin) Hayes of Delano and Claire (Robert) Sheldon of Bemidji; a brother: Jack (Rose) Chamberlin of Babbitt; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband: Chester, a son: Claude Westman, son-in-law: Richard “Dick” Pulver, grandchildren: Kari Lynn Pulver and Richard Allen Pulver, her parents, a brother: Don Chamberlin.
Funeral services for Hazella Westman will be held on Saturday, March 16th, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo. Pastor Al Jones will officiate.
Special music by The Jones Family Singers.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 15th from 5-8 P.M. at The Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
Casket Bearers will be David, Daniel and Dennis Lincoln, Gerald Kaddatz, Robert Westman and Chester Westman Jr.
Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
