Walter M. “Walt” Borchardt, age 73 of Rockford, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the Golden Living Care Center in Delano, MN. Walter was born on December 11th, 1936 in Elmyra, Ontario, Canada, the son of Alvin and Esther (Klinck) Borchardt. On May 4th, 1957 Walter was united in marriage to Dianne Wurdell at St. John’s Lutheran in Hollywood, MN. Walter is survived by his loving family… wife of 53 years Dianne. Children Jeff Borchardt of Zimmerman, MN, Julie (Scott) Jaffe of Isanti, MN and John (Tara) Borchardt of Zimmerman, MN. Grandchildren: Jacob and Samantha Jaffe, Jack and Marly Borchardt. Siblings: Ruth Rouse of Beaumont, TX, Paul (Judy) Borchardt of Houston TX, Barbara (Richard) Schomel of Minnetonka, MN. Sisters-in-law Lois Borchardt of Appleton, WI and Shirley Wurdell of Hutchinson, MN. Sisters-in-law Kathleen (William) Walsh of Maple Grove, MN and Gail Wurdell of St Louis Park, MN. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Walter is preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Esther, brother Roland Borchardt and brother-in-law Gary Wurdell. Funeral Service held Monday 3-1-10, 12 Noon at Our Father’s Lutheran Church in Rockford, MN; time of visitation held one hour prior to the service at the church.
